NCCN is an alliance of leading cancer centers devoted to patient care, research, and education. The mission of NCCN is to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of cancer care so that patients can live better lives.
Treatment Guidelines for Patients
NCCN aims to provide people with cancer and the general public with state-of-the-art cancer treatment information in easy-to-understand language. The NCCN Guidelines for Patients® are translations of the NCCN clinical practice guidelines for physicians. Clinical practice guidelines are decision tools that are created by doctors to explain a disease and determine the best way to treat a patient, depending on their diagnosis, disease stage, and other factors, such as age. These guidelines help doctors make decisions, by explaining the pros and cons of each option.
Patient and Caregiver Resources
According to the National Cancer Institute, there are nearly 12 million cancer survivors in the United States. A cancer diagnosis brings with it not only the challenges of treatment, but also practical and emotional issues. NCCN resources aim to assist patients and their caregivers with overcoming the challenges related to cancer
