Commodore Chris Abraham, the winning bidder of the Orlando Cepeda autographed baseball.Torture Cancer was invited to be the featured charity at the Mariposa Yacht Club Meeting on June 8, 2013. Each month, a different charity is invited to speak at the Yacht Club meeting and receives donations from the members. Club member Glenn Arlands, representative of US Beverage, learned about the Foundation as one of the sponsors of the 2012 Golf Tournament and thought the members, many of whom are Giants fans (the club is just blocks from AT&T park), enjoy hearing about David’s work with the Giants and his subsequent creation of the Foundation. In addition to speaking, the Foundation brought several items to auction at the event. David’s presentation and auction items were so well-received that the Foundation received the largest donation amount of any charity to date.
